Nigeria, a country with an estimated population of over 170 million attained independence in 1960. Since then there has been the challenge of incorporating the diverse peoples into a stable and single national community and sustainable democracy in order to achieve the utmost goal of sustainable development. This paper with particular focus on democracy, regional integration and sustainable peace in Nigeria. This study attempts to look at the concepts of democracy, sustainable peace and it went further to discusses the challenges of sustainable peace in Nigeria. The study adopts the documentary method for gathering data from secondary sources and recommends among others, that government should make attempt to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. There should be the diversification of the economy to create more jobs for the teeming unemployed youths. It concludes that there should be urgent need for a re-direction of government policy toward building a strong and reliable democracy that would promote equality, transparency and sustainable peace and the inculcation of democracy in the citizen is a panacea for regional integration and sustainable peace.
