Abstract
While blockchain technology promises to resolve the inherent vulnerabilities, opacity, and inefficiencies of traditional financial systems, practical integration remains a significant challenge. This paper presents the design, development, and evaluation of a decentralized, blockchain-based wallet application tailored for modern financial markets. Guided by Design Science Research (DSR) principles, this study employs Agile development and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies to iteratively design, implement, and validate the proposed artifact. The resulting system introduces a hybrid architecture that balances cryptographic decentralization with operational efficiency. Specifically, the network utilizes a role-gated Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism featuring a dynamic difficulty adjustment algorithm to ensure stable, secure on-chain block generation among authorized nodes. To facilitate rapid peer-to-peer communication, the architecture implements a scalable Publish/Subscribe (PubSub) protocol powered by Redis. Furthermore, the system uniquely integrates an off-chain MongoDB caching schema to offload read-heavy user interface queries without compromising the cryptographic integrity of the distributed ledger. Empirical simulations confirm that synthesizing these networking and cryptographic components mitigates traditional transaction vulnerabilities and provides a highly available, transparent, and secure alternative for digital asset management.
