Abstract

Abstrak : River in Indonesia has suffered a high pollution, it might cause the river has dirty and dark color. Pollutants are come from industrial, agriculture, and house hold waste, particularly for unmanageble municipal solid waste (MSW) enter into the river bodies. Water quality modeling has been used as a support tool for water resources management. The Streeter-Phelps equations are used to solve the algorithm  of  river water quality simulation. The equations were solved using matlab pragramme.  Organic pollutant is called biological oxygen demand (BOD) or chemical oxygen demand (COD). Naturally, rivers are able to neutralize BOD it’s self, because of the activities of microorganisms in body river. Equilibrium concentration between  DO and BOD is  very important to make the degradation reaction continue along the  river bodies. Interaction between DO and BOD is one of  the indicator  of quality of river water.
